Bennington College has announced the Robert H. Woodworth
Science Lecture:
Dr. Tom Seeley on HONEYBEE
DEMOCRACY
When: Thursday, November 5, 2015, 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM
Where: CAPA Symposium on the Bennington College
campus
Description: Dr. Tom Seeley will discuss how
honeybees use a process that includes collective fact-finding, vigorous debate,
and consensus building to choose a new dwelling place. This exploration of
animal behavior shows that decision-making groups, whether honeybee or human,
can be smarter than even the smartest individuals in them. The lecture is open to the public.
